Director or Minister of Music at Lake Shore Baptist Church, Waco, TX.
Lake Shore Baptist Church is seeking a part-time Director or Minister of Music. The position (see full description here) is salaried (not paid on an hourly basis), but will usually require 8-10 hours/week, primarily on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. Position responsibilities are as follows:
- Plan, organize and implement a church music program in conjunction with the Worship Committee and pastors. Regular weekly consultation with the pastors is essential.
- Plan and administer the music budget in conjunction with the Worship and Finance Committees.
- Direct the adult choir.
- Supervise the organist/pianist, scheduling substitutes when necessary. Consult with the Personnel and Worship Committees when the position is vacant.
- Enlist vocal and instrumental soloists and ensembles to enhance Sunday and special services.
- Be responsible for the purchase, inventory, care, repair and storage of all music, music literature, and related equipment and instruments.
- Carry out any special tasks that may arise relative to the music or worship life of the church or other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
- Arrange for a substitute director when it is necessary to be absent.
