What is Lake Shore’s style of worship?
Lake Shore has a liturgical style of worship. We follow the church year through Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost. Our ministers wear robes. We hang exquisite banners. We use hymnals and sing great hymns of the faith. In all these ways we follow the great traditions of the church as worship God with our prayers, music, Scripture readings, silence, and sermons.
How do you practice communion?
We practice open communion the first Sunday of each month. The invitation in our worship guide reads: “Christ’s gift of light and life is for the whole world. In the spirit of communion with believers everywhere, please come forward to receive the bread and the cup.” When the bread is broken and cup is poured out for all, the ministers stand at the front and speak the invitation: “The gifts of God for the people of God. Come and eat and drink.”
Where do I find past sermons?
You can find current and past sermons under the sermon tab on this website. Audio and a text versions of each sermons are available. Hard copies are available in the church office.
